03/06/2003 jNote version 1.4 released!

jNote is now able to save compressed jNote data files. This results in much smaller data files and faster load and save of data files. On my Psion Series 5mx PRO loading/saving a compressed file takes approximately 40% less time! Compressed data files use the extension "jnc" instead of "jnt". You can choose if you want to use compressed files. For this I added a new option in the general preferences dialog.
If anybody has problems using the compressed files, then please give me a feedback. Otherwise future versions of jNote will support only the compressed file format!

21/05/2003 jNote version 1.3 released!

I implemented a new feature which allows you to copy/move notes from one jNote data file to another! To get an impression, look into the screenshots:

Screenshot 1
(opens a new browser window with the picture)
Screenshot 2

In the first screenshot you can see I did a change in the file menu. There's a new entry 'More' which contains now the new feature and the 'Export' entry. If you select 'Copy/Move...' in the file menu jNote asks you for the second data file you want to use. After this you see the view shown in screenshot 2. The second data file you selected is always on the left side of the screen. Now you can select a note in one of the files and copy or move it to the other file. You can also delete notes. If you copy/move a note which belongs to a category which doesn't exist in the target file, then jNote will ask you if it should add the category to the file or set the category of the note to 'None'.
