Why jNote?
I was always
unhappy about using my text notes only on my Psion Series 5mx
PDA. I wanted to use them on the psion and the pc. The application
I used was written in OPL and only running on the Psion. So the
only way would be complicated conversion to get the data to my
pc and back again. Additional I discovered that while the files
on the psion were password protetected I could use a disk editor
and read my saved notes without problem! Very funny protection:
lock the door but leave the window open. So I decided it was time
to do something on my own.
That's the history how it came to jNote. It took a lot
more time to develop than I had thought it would take, because
of several bugs in the implementation of the Java virtual machine
on the Psion. But now it's running.
I wrote it for my own usage and never intended to make any money
out of it. It is only a very small application. But maybe there
are other people who find it useful too.
It is freeware, but I would like to ask you one favour if you
try it. Please send me an email, because I would be very happy
to know what you are thinking about it and if there are other
people who find jNote useful too.
Have fun!
