The Teacher

Fritz

Friedrich Kemler, 4th Dan Aikikai
"When I started Aikido practice during my time at college (in the late seventies of the last century), my intention was to acquire just a few more elegant self defense techniques in addition to my already pretty impressive (or so I thought) repertoire. Pretty soon I realized, that there is much more to Aikido than meets the eye. With growing enthusiasm (some friends called me a fanatic) I spent more and more time practicing. The small amount of understanding of Aikido that I claim to have reached, I gained on seminars with Tamura Sensei. My ways of life changed, but Aikido remained a constant ingredient through all ups and downs. In the course of time I acquired many friends through Aikido. My own training and the teaching in the club have become a never draining source of joy and strength."
