Activists, writers and organizations are supporting students in a wave of repression that has surfaced at Holyoke Community College, George Mason University and UW-Madison this past week. HCC Antiwar Coalition and UW-Madison Stop the War are chapters of the Campus Antiwar Network.

The Campus Antiwar Network website at http://www.campusantiwar.net is covering these breaking stories and posting updates. CAN is organizing actions in response to repression and continuing its counter-recruitment work at campuses across the nation.

CAN has established a Repression Working Group. Campus activists and organizations may start a CAN chapter through the CAN website. Start soon, in time for the "On The Frontlines" counter-recruitment conference for students and their allies at UCAL/Berkeley, Oct 22-23, sponsored by CAN and the Military Out of Our Schools coalition. The conference is a critically important national conference on counter-recruitment and, for CAN chapters, their 4th national conference. http://www.campusantiwar.net

The Campus Antiwar Network is the national, democratic, independent and grassroots network of campus antiwar organizations. It is "owned and  operated" by students. The conference follows CAN's  coast to coast counter-recruitment actions at universities and colleges this year and last, and comes on the heels of the huge "College Not Combat - Relief Not War" contingents called by CAN at the DC and San Francisco marches on 9/24. Photos are the DC and San Francisco contingents are available at http://www.traprockpeace.org
