Where will you be when the flu hit

We are not sure what you will do but we know that we will probably hide. The only way of not getting the flu is to be out of reach to the virus. And the only safe way for this would be if you are sequestered and live an autonomic life until the vaccination will be available. Each outside contact will be a risk factor for you.

Consider preparing your house for this kind of emergency.

Please add other items in our forum: Checklist for a Pandemic

Of course, this list is long. And under normal circumstance you won't need to have these items in your home or first aid kit. But if you plan to stay at home, even when you become sick, than you need to make sure that you have what is needed.

Another good idea is to be up to date on your first aid courses.  Contact your local Red Cross to find out about courses you might want to take. The course that might be of most use is the community first aid and safety course that takes 9.5 hours.

"Participants in this course learn to recognize and respond to emergencies including shock, cardiac and breathing emergencies for adults, children and infants, heat and cold emergencies, sudden illnesses and poisonings. Additionally, participants will learn first aid for everything from cuts and scrapes to muscle, bone and joint injuries." (http://www.redcross.org/services/hss/courses/community.html)
Once again, this course only takes you 9.5 hours out of your life and can save lives -- the lives of the people you love. Contact the Red Cross today.
