    did Ivan (see "Did You See the Sunrise?").  Wouldn't it be ironic if
    these two, one a friend of Thomas' and the other an enemy, worked
    together?

   to rescue a highly trained dolphin.

  Magnum stands at the cliffs and watches the Kona Winds coming to the
  islands when he sees a woman jumping into the high sea. He rescues her.
  She says that her husband wants to kill her because she saw him commit a
  murder.

  Magnum works as a hotel detective because he wanted a 'serious' job.
  A person called 'The Cat' steals things in the hotel. Magnum has to get
  him before the jewelry-congress begins. He calls his friends to support
  him.

    returns in future episodes such as "Murder By Night" and "Resolutions".
    Candy Clark (_Cat's Eye_) returns in her role in "Straight and Narrow".

    begins his role as Don Eddie Rice.  He returns in "Resolutions".

  Robin Masters' publisher invented a new advertisement: to increase the
  selling of his new book "The Treasure of Kalaniopu'u".  A treasure hunt
  begins for one million dollars which are buried somewhere on the Island.
  Magnum has to be the bodyguard of the hunt manager.

    Universal plugs its own cartoon _Woody Woodpecker_.  Also, as a boy
    Selleck was on a little league baseball team called the Woodpeckers.

  Admiral Hawkes notices that there are spies in his secret department. He
  drafts Magnum as security officer.  First, Magnum is glad to escape
  Higgins' benefit bed-race . . . .

  A photographer sideswipes Magnum in the Ferrari instantly
  involving him in a case of an unresolved embezzlement, multiple
  murders and the kidnapping of Agatha.

    Thomas videotapes a ficitonal 4/9/86 opening day baseball game
    between the Tigers and the Toronto Bluejays.  On his tape is a scene
    of Lou Whitaker slugging a base hit and then crossing Tiger Stadium's
    home plate to score a run.  It is interesting to note that on 4/9/81,
    a real-life opening day in Detroit against Toronto, Whitaker did
    exactly what is on Magnum's video.  He got a base hit and then came
    in to score a run within the same inning.
